How to prevent hair loss

Hair loss can affect anyone. Even though it affects mostly men, one third of the ones affected are women. They don't suffer direct hair losing, but thinning of the hair over the scalp.
The causes are the same for anyone. It can range from the food you eat to your genetics. Most of the causes are the lack of vitamins, stress and medications. But no matter what causes your hair loss, you will have to find out how hair grows and what kind of hair you've got because it's very important how your treat it.

As you probably know, hair has a two to six year growth phase where it grows about a centimeter each month. There is also a resting phase, which lasts about two to three months, where the hair sheds up to 150 hairs on a day. That number may increase because  it varies from one person to another.

Now that you know how it grows, you should visit your doctor to find out what kind of hair you've got and what would be the best to prevent the hair loss. I'm going to give you some of the most popular ways to do that:
1. Care for your hair. You shouldn't make crazy hairstyles that pull your hair and require the use of heated rollers and stuff like that. Wash it frequently using mild shampoos that suit your hair. Try not to dye it, but if you do, don't do the full dye because it damages the hair. Also, often drying and heating procedures tend to weaken your hair.

2. Take it easy. Stress is also a cause of hair loss, so it can be a good indicator that your stress level is too high.

3. Eat healthier. Food with iron, protein, vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids will greatly help you minimizing the hair loss.

4. Think about some approved hair loss treatments. You should discuss this with your doctor, but the accepted treatments are medications for slowing hair loss, hair transplant. laser therapy and hair restoration surgery.

There you go. There are lots of other  techniques to prevent hair loss, but these are the most popular ones. I hope I've helped you and that you'll take care of your hair a bit more. If you have any questions, post them in the comments. Thanks.
